St. Joseph Catholic School Easter 2020 Message

April 11th, 2020

Dear St. Joseph families,

We hope this message finds everyone healthy and well.  The staff at St. Joseph Catholic School want you to know we are thinking of you, especially as we begin to celebrate the most important event of our liturgical calendar year.  Easter is a time to reflect on the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice in giving His life to save us from sin, and to think about how we might find ways to give of ourselves to help others.  With everything happening in our world right now, it is heartening to hear so many stories of people reaching out to assist others; whether it is our front line health care workers, other essential hospital staff, grocery store workers, mandated construction workers, our truck & bus drivers, and everyone else deemed essential to support our communities.  Additionally, there are numerous stories of people making an effort to support others, both personally and professionally.  This year we recognize that Easter Sunday may look and feel very different from those in the past, but it is still an opportunity to celebrate the risen Christ and to be thankful to our Lord God for the things that are most important to us, such as family and the freedom offered by the great country we live in; Canada.

Although we cannot attend mass at this time, there are a number of online masses that can be found on the Diocese of Hamilton website (please see below):

The staff at St. Joseph School wish you a very blessed Easter with all the love and happiness that only Easter can bring.  May you feel the brilliant, joyful blessings God has to offer during this Easter season.  It is our wish that you are able to celebrate Easter with your loved ones, whether it be at the dinner table, through a phone call, video chat or even a thoughtful prayer for a family member that lives far away.

Happy Easter and God Bless,

The St. Joseph Catholic School Staff
